Welcome to Worsley Amateur Swimming Club.
We are a local community club for swimmers of all abilities from the age of 4 to adults. We teach non-swimmers up to tri-athletes. The club is solely run by volunteers, usually parents of the swimmers but not exclusively, and not for profit. Subscriptions and swim fees pay for the pool rental, qualified coaches and the all important insurance!
We are Swim21 and Clubmark accredited. These are the quality approval marks for swimming clubs. All our teachers are qualified, CRB checked and have been on child protection, equity and disability courses.
We were established in 1937 and are proud of our history. Swimmers from Worsley have gone on to be World record holders and Olympic swimmers. Two of our most famous swimmers are Claire Huddart and Adrian Turner.
We are a competitive Club taking part in local Bolton and District and Manchester and District leagues. Our swimmers also enter the Bolton and District individual galas and Championships. We have an annual Club gala and we also hold a fun ‘duckling gala’ for our younger members –even the non swimmers.
If you are interested in joining us then why not come along and see us on a Tuesday night?
